Swedish & Deep Tissue Massage

Swedish & deep tissue massage are the most popular types of bodywork because most people need to unwind mentally, release physically, or often times both. I do these modalities well and have the ability to really help you to feel better!
Swedish massage is geared to relax and unwind at a deep level. People need the stress reduction capabilities of Swedish massage. If you want to just melt and forget about your problems for an hour or two, try some Swedish massage. Often times our physical tension is caused mostly by mental stress. In this case Swedish massage is the prescription of choice. When people come here for a relaxing massage they leave as new beings!
Deep tissue & trigger point therapy together work out knots and tight bands of muscle that are restricting movement and causing pain. You also may require trigger point therapy (pressing directly on specific hot spots). Many people really need to get their muscles worked deep. If you have sore shoulders or tightness and pain in your back, deep tissue massage can loosen you up and help you to feel better. You may feel knots that you didn't know you had! I'll get in there and work them out without overworking them. Many of the people that come to me do repetitive work activities and get injured, sore or just plain tight. Neckwork off the end of the Table
I do neck work off the end of the massage table. I use a stool to put my feet on so that I have a "platform" for the clients head to rest on my lap. This way I can tilt and rotate the head at will while working on the neck. I use this method for head massage and ear work too. Most people feel results from their neck pain or back pain in the first session. These techniques are major stress busters. Most people hold their stress in their necks. Ever heard the saying, "What a pain in the neck"? In most cases I can reverse that pain syndrome. Shoulders can be very tight especially on the top part above the shoulder blade. Pressing certain "trigger points" can really help with painful shoulder issues. Tight muscles in your neck can make life almost unbearable. If people knew how much massage could help them to heal their necks they would go and get regular bodywork every week! It's often almost like a miracle! Major Relief for Tight, Sore Backs!
Most of the time people get sore backs from sitting or standing all day. The weight of your body is constantly pressing down on your lumbar muscles when you are sitting or standing. When your buttock muscles get tight and sore from sitting all day it radiates the pain and tightness straight to your low back. Also, when your mid back muscles get tight and knotted from leaning over your desk, it puts even more tension on the lower back muscles. In addition to that people can also get tight quads (front thigh muscles) that often contribute to low back pain. If you've been walking, running or riding a bicycle very much your thigh muscles may be tight. I've seen these problems time and time again and I've helped so many people to feel better. I've also taught a lot of people how to help themselves with self massage. It's so important to learn how to heal yourself! Even if you can afford a regular massage, having the ability to work on yourself at any time of the day or night is crucial to well being!
Massage or Chiropractic?
When I have a sore neck or back I turn to massage! Before you go looking for a chiropractor please consider massage first. Chiropractors adjust bones. Chiropractic adjustments do not address muscle tension directly as does massage therapy! Most people need a good massage therapist to release the knots and tight muscle bands first and then maybe a chiropractor later. Neck, back and shoulder pain can be one of the most difficult and bothersome problems that I see as a massage therapist. Most of the time necks, backs and shoulders have tight bands of muscle that need to be worked out by a professional massage therapist. Learn about the benefits of massage.
