| Millet hull pillows are the most comfortable, adjustable, natural and supportive pillow in the world! |
|
My millet pillow vs buckwheat:
My natural, un-dyed linen, millet hull pillow is nicer, softer, stronger, more comfortable and better for your head, neck and shoulders than other millet pillows or buckwheat pillows. Why? Each millet pillow is handmade with beautiful un-dyed linen. I also use premium 100% organic millet hulls that are screen sifted and shaken to remove MOST of the dust. Then, before I ship the pillow to you, I tumble it in a dryer to get it virtually dust free! In addition, each millet pillow comes with a 100% organic cotton case and extra hulls so that you can adjust the amount of support in your pillow. They are also the best millet pillow for neck pain that you can buy - please remember to do self massage for neck pain too! Many people are familiar with buckwheat hull pillows. Buckwheat hulls are nice and firm and so they are great for sitting cushions and back & butt supports as well as my therapeutic spine bolsters... but too hard and crunchy (noisy) for pillows! Some companies are using wool (bad choice - wool is for feet - not faces!) or cotton batting (thick batting will not allow buckwheat hulls to flow well - also a bad choice) as the outer material for buckwheat hull pillows (buckwheat has sharp edges and requires a dense material around it. I use organic cotton duck material for my sitting cushions). Some even use wool for millet pillows. This is illogical and an improper application of those materials! My competition does not understand how to use these natural products because they are not naturalists like me! lol. Buckwheat is too hard and crunchy for sleeping pillows and is best used for other purposes. One company I've seen is selling buckwheat pillows that have "flattened" buckwheat! (now these people are really dorks... lol) They don't understand anything about millet and buckwheat hulls and the materials that work best with them! Also, most of the companies selling millet hull and buckwheat hull pillows are selling pillows that are "standard sizes" for beds as in king size, queen size, etc. This too is illogical. You see, millet hulls and buckwheat hulls are naturally heavy! You don't want these pillows to be any bigger than they need to be. The best size pillow is the one that fits a human head well! (You see, I work with human heads all the time. I understand bodies and I understand how millet hulls and buckwheat hulls work.) The best size millet pillow for human heads is approximately 20" * 20" give or take an inch. Even this size pillow weighs about 7 pounds! It is important that you are able to maneuver your millet pillow in the night with ease and also able to conform it to your head easily. A square shape millet pillow works well for human heads. Rectangles do not! Buy a 26" * 20" millet pillow and you're adding several pounds of unwanted material and making it a lot tougher to maneuver your millet pillow in the middle of the night! More is not better! Don't buy a millet pillow to fit your pillow cases or to fit your bed size! Buy one to fit your head! I know these things from working with the hulls and sleeping on them for many years. Custom sizes *** If you are an extra big person I can make a custom 21" * 21" for you. If you are small I can make an 18" * 18". (No extra charge) I also now offer a "kids size" or "travel size" millet hull pillow that is 16" * 16". (See below)
"Hi Brett, I tried my new pillow last night, it works amazing. I'll play around more with the quantity of millet hull in it for optimal support but so far it feels like the best pillow I've slept on! I'm spreading the word... Thanks, Alain"
"Dear Brett, I got the pillows the other day and I I have slept on them for two nights. I love them!!!! My pregnant belly feels as if its not even there. I have finally got that restful sleep I was looking for. I cant thank you enough!!! On another note, I was showing my husband your flyer you sent with the pillows about your orthotics. He is a 12b and has the hardest time with shoes and orthotics. We will be copying his insert and mailing to you very soon. You are a very talented person and we love your mindset and your products that you offer. We only wish you lived in california so we could book massages!!!! Take care, talk soon! Stephanie Sparks Thanks again!!!!!"
"Thank you so much for the amazing pillow Brett. I added a few Millet Hulls to it witch made it a dream to sleep on. I made a video on one of my You Tube Channels about my pillow. Hopefully the link works. You might haft to cut & past it. I put it on mikeproductions69. Thank you, Mike"
"Hello Brett! I had to write an email to you to thank you personally for making the millet hull pillows. Your pillows are ABSOLUTELY FREAKIN' AMAZING!! We are so glad you make and ship these pillows all over. We live in Fairbanks, AK and no one makes stuff like this here. Trying to look online for products from like minded individuals is hard, so even if we do find an amazing deal they won't ship it to us. :(
No chemicals, preservatives, toxins or anything unnatural for your body….and they are really comfy too!! Your workmanship is great. The pillow itself is very nicely done, the linen has strong stitches and a great zipper. Then the pillow case is so soft without being slick like satin…guess that's why they call it Sateen. :) Print choices are awesome too.
My brother was the first to purchase one. He had been complaining of neck and shoulder pain for weeks, and knew he had to do something to fix his sleeping trouble. So he took some time to research about pillows, and immediately found out how bad normal pillows are. He soon found out about millet hull or buckwheat fillings and was intrigued at testimonials and product reviews. He ended up buying a buckwheat yoga bolster, and found out the "bads" about buckwheat no one talks about (hard, loud and have a unique smell). That just had to go. LOL SO, again he researched for "the pillow" but this time he wanted to try Millet Hull. He found your site almost immediately and purchased one the very next day. BINGO! Even after the very first night no more pain or discomfort. He says he moves less in bed and sleeps more soundly than ever.
After being so impressed with his own purchase he suggested that I purchase one. I hopped on your site, watched some of your videos and read some of the posted testimonials and knew I had to try one. But I couldn't decide what I wanted a regular sized pillow or a body pillow. So I bought both! LOL It was worth the expense upfront because these pillows will last forever. Anyway, I fell in love with my pillows before I had even used them. You can vary the support, change the shape, contour it to your body, use them as a floor seat, prop yourself up in bed…just amazing. I even went as so far to try sleeping on the floor with the body pillow one night. Wonderful support!
About 2 weeks later my brother decided to purchase your insoles for a new pair of shoes that were irritating him. He had just spent $150 on these shoes and the support was tearing up his feet at work. After putting in your insole/supports he said he was pleasantly surprised. Your support was thinner than his previous insert and offered more support and comfort after a long day at the restaurant. He sends his many thanks!!
Sorry the email was so long, but I wanted to make a point to tell you how we feel about our purchases. In short we love them, and will continue to support you in your endeavors. Just wish you weren't so far away. We are very excited for your up coming stuff you mentioned in one of your videos too. :)
Thank you Brett for making such a wonderful product for everyone to enjoy. It is so refreshing to see someone making a living out of helping/healing or just sharing knowledge/experience without trying to be gimmicky. Your friends in Alaska, Jene and Travis
PS-We are both new subscribers to your YouTube account too! Keep going, great stuff on the videos too. We are both interested in a Vegan Community, hope that other people are too. Please keep spreading the love!"
"Hello Brett, I love my millet pillows! I just left a positive comment on one of your youtube videos about how much I love my pillow, my son loves his as well. Anyway, I will order a travel millet pillow and yoga bolsters soon. Best, Melissa"
"Hello Brett, The millet pillows are wonderful, we absolutely love them; even my 3 year loves hers. When I removed some millet from my head pillow I threw in some lavender, which was the icing on the cake. For years now we've been looking for just the right natural bed that fits our small lifestyle and multi-purposing of rooms. It's so easy to roll up the millet pillows and put them away and use our rooms for more than just bedrooms. Your fabrics are luxurious against the skin and the millet conforms beautifully! My Husband and I put on health presentations across the country and plan to present your pillows in our rest section. We are very happy customers and I'm glad I saw your utube video. Thanks for checking on us. Blessings, Christy"
"Hey! :)
I just woke up from the fifth night on my new millet hull body pillow. I've used it in my car (back seat), on a carpeted floor, and on my couch. The best place is the floor. I'm able to stretch in my sleep and wake up very rested. In fact do not want to get up out of "bed" when I wake. I lie there for a long time after just stretching and moving because it actually feels good. (I feel like a lazy cat) haha. I'm very happy that I made this purchase. I've previously purchased a millet hull pillow and are extremely satisfied with that purchase. I thought that it made sense to have something to sleep on that was made of the same. It's very comfy, it conforms to my body perfectly and I'm a side sleeper who shifts sides. So that's a huge thumbs up from me. It's also like that it breathes. It does not get sweaty and uncomfortable. The cutest thing is when I wake up my children's heads are resting on the edges of my body pillow. The kids know a good thing when they see it. I love my new body pillow. Thank you Brett for your quality workmanship, and design. It makes a HUGE difference when you purchase something handmade with care and positive intentions.
Thanks again. :)
Catherine"
"Hi Brett, You made me buckwheat chair pillows. They are lovely. Turns out the dogs love them too. I often catch them napping on a cushion. Guests, of the human variety, ask what kind of cushions they are because they are so comfortable. "Where did you get these?" is a common question. Their faces fall when I tell them they were custom made in the US. Should I ever desire another pillow, Brett, you will be hearing from me! Namaste Blanca in Canada"
Why not buy your millet pillow from someone that truly understands how it actually works? The difference between them (mass production pillow companies) and me is that they are making pillows just to make money and to give people what they think they will buy...cheap. I make millet pillows: 1. As an art. 2. Because I am somewhat egotistical and want to make the best pillow in the world. 3. It makes me feel good to hear about how people love my pillows. 4. Yes, I need to pay my bills.
"I love it! The millet is soo comfy for your head compared to buckwheat! The shipping was super fast too. The case is very soft & the workmanship great. I love supporting small local businesses, thank you. Will totally recommend your stuff... Hugs! Jessica"
Like buckwheat hulls, millet hulls are the outer part of a grain. This is the inedible part of the kernel that is removed and usually discarded. Buckwheat and millet hulls are a perfect example of one of those things that have an incredible hidden value. They are the ultimate natural support mechanism! If you are looking for a comfortable, natural, organic pillow, millet hull pillows are just the ticket!
"The pillow is fantastic!! I wish I had a whole mattress made out of the millet husks! Thank you for such a well thought out design and high quality product. Sincerely, Laila" They are much more comfortable than buckwheat hull pillows and so therapeutic. An organic millet hull pillow is soft yet firm at the same time! Unlike foam and memory foam, millet pillows are totally safe, natural, non-toxic pillows. There is no out-gasing of chemicals with natural millet hull pillows! Yes! I sleep on one every night. Millet hull pillows can lay down almost flat for back sleepers and sit up as high as 12 inches to support for side sleepers too! Also, if you sleep on one of these millet hull pillows you will build muscle in your neck. It's true. Your neck muscles will get more toned and stronger each night.
"Hi Brett, I just wanted to write and thank you for my new millet pillow. It's the most comfortable pillow I've ever owned, and will not ever be without it ever, so you better not decide to stop making them, and you better not try to improve on perfection! I've had the buckwheat (too hard and crunchy), feather (no support and too soft), fiberfill (can never find just the right one) but your is perfect every time. The quality of the millet pillow is outstanding, and I love the flannel pillowcase too. For Christmas this year I'll be ordering one for my wife, each of my parents and a backup for myself! Thanks again and take care. Mike" The healing qualities of my organic millet hull pillows are absolutely incredible! Everyone should sleep on one of them! If you like buckwheat pillows, you'll love millet hull pillows! If you prefer natural products for your good health, and who doesn't, a millet hull pillow is absolutely the best pillow in the world.

*** I make each of these pillows one at a time with un-dyed, all natural linen, the very best material available for this application. (My competition uses cotton for the inner pillow. Linen is 2 1/2 times stronger than cotton and moves better so that you can conform the pillow to your head easier. This is very important for usability and durability!) Linen is very durable, soft, flexible, all natural and of course quite expensive...but worth it. There's just no sense in making these millet hull pillows cheap! I double stitch every seam for maximum strength and durability. I use organic millet hulls and yes, the cotton case is also 100% organic!
"Hi Brett, I just wanted to let you know that your pillows have been fantastic for us here in BC, Canada. We have them a few weeks now. My accountant had neck issues for years and now sleeps like a queen on the millet pillow. My best friend George has sleep apnea and has to wear a machine to pump air into him at night. For the first time in several years he is now sleeping 7 hours or more a night. Before the pillow, he was only getting 20 minute "cat naps" because his throat would close off and cause him to waken. The pillow allows him to position his head so that his wind pipe stays straight in line with his body. As a result, George has more energy and is more active and now losing weight due to the increased activity. This cycle will continue as he feels better and better. In the end he won't have the excess weight that is crushing his wind pipe when he falls asleep. Of course, Gail and I just love our pillow too! I particularly like the pillow case. The material is excellent. And the tartan is cool! Is there a significance to the tartan design? Perhaps the Rodgers clan? I will be advertising these pillow on my Alternative Health site soon. It is just being developed. I have 30 other sites so I'm kept pretty busy! Sincerely yours, Nick M. Walsh"
*** Please also see my Miracle Back Support, millet hull dog beds, custom orthotics and buckwheat hull zafu sitting cushions!!!!! I charge just $70.00 plus shipping (USPS ground) for the large millet hull pillow. Extra cases are $24. Shipping in the continental U.S. is $20 for adult size millet pillows. (20" * 20") Shipping to Canada is expensive! Please call me for current rates. The "kids or travel size" pillow is priced at $50. Shipping is $12 in the U.S.
DUST… Most of the millet hull dust was removed at the processor. Then, I removed virtually all the rest of the dust by tumbling in a dryer. If you want to get the hulls even cleaner, you can run your pillow in the dryer even longer. Make sure the zipper is TOTALLY tucked in – closed all the way.
This is the size of the millet pillows after filling. They are the perfect size for human heads. It is not good to make millet pillows the same size as regular foam pillows. Bigger is not better! Move-ability is key to creating the perfect mold for your head. Longer rectangular millet pillows are too heavy and bulky to maneuver. The pillow I sell already weighs about 7 pounds!
Hey Brett, Thank you sooo much for the millet pillow! I feel like it's the Holy Grail, a sacred pillow -really! I am now propped up with it & my laptop...amazing! Yesterday when it arrived, I couldn't wait to check it out immediately, then, couldn't wait till bed time..... It's so on the same wave length of me -so in tune... Such great energy. It is truly a special gift! Thanks Brett, no doubt I will be ordering for others sooner then later. Have all good days and keep spreading the joY! Best,
Maddy K
Definitely consider one of my incredible and supportive, organic millet hull body pillows too! (Please see pictures below) Sore shoulders are largely created by sleeping on your side. When you get your body onto one of my organic millet hull body pillows it takes the weight off of your shoulders and puts it on your side. Yea! $195. Shipping is $30 in the U.S. Call for shipping to Canada.
